Rock stars in the spotlight

It was chilly in WA that night, and Pete was wearing a coal the whole way up to the encore, so I had a pretty good idea the shirt was coming off…

I’ve uploaded too much FOB on my Tumblr that’s supposed to be for all my concert exploits…

inspirafun asked:

Did you draw/ edit Joe??? That geometric pic is awesome!!!!

Thanks so much inspirafun!

I use the old computer character rendering technique of low poly, but I draw real life people, animals and objects. I love seeing how much detail I can recreate in the low-poly realm while still keeping the triangles as big as they can be. (A throwback to the necessity of keeping it simple for the basic computers of yesteryear… If I’m not keeping it real to the original look, what’d be the point. :D )

No matter the size of the triangles, the process is *laborious* but I zone out, listening to my favourite tunes, and can get a piece done in a few hours.

I love arting, I love FOB and I love Fun. Just wait ‘til I get my Nate Ruess one up. It’s epic! :D

JOE! The classic Joe pose. The effortless, “yup, I’m awesome at guitar but it’s no big deal…”

And now it’s Andy’s turn to be low-poly arted. I love that you can see the concentration even through the simplicity of the triangles.

I thought that I accidentally gave Patrick a cute-as-a-button nose, then I was like, no, he just has a cute button-as-a-nose.
Don’t think I didn’t draw every triangle myself. And don’t think for a second that I was smart enough to save the first draft before the app crashed… Oi!

D Castor that Brendon Urie plays.
I’m testing out a CS Illustrator low poly technique. Next I’ll be trying it out on a real human!
